E-Mail Saves Trees!

Table:

Paper products consume an enormous percentage of the world's timber resources. Timber harvests cause serious environmental damage, both locally and globally, and our natural resources are being depleted faster than ever before. By making slight changes in the way we do everyday things, we can have a positive effect on the environmental future of our planet.

One way to do this is by utilising technological developments to reduce our consumption of natural resources.

Using e-mail as an alternative to hard-copy mail can have a very real effect on paper consumption. For example, between 1994 and 1995, Australia Post delivered 4047,400,000 mail articles - which equals a lot of paper!

E-mail may help save trees, and it can also help businesses operate more efficiently and effectively. E-mail is:

  • quicker than conventional paper mail;
  • faster to prepare, as it doesn't need to be printed and placed in an envelope;
  • reliable, with automatic delivery confirmation; and
  • cheaper, in transmission costs and cost of paper.

At HyperWrite, we have acted on our concern for the environment by implementing more environmentally-friendly work practices. We have established a paperless office environment by using online alternatives to paper systems. We also recycle paper, toner cartridges, and other office consumables, where possible.

We can show your organisation how online documentation, electronic mail, Intranet solutions and Internet access can improve corporate health and strengthen the environment.
